[Burton Lysecki Books]
Selling books is the easy part. Getting my hands on good books is tough. I always say, if I can get quality books, I can sell them. People drop by the shop every day with books for me to buy. I also make house calls and visit estate sales. I have been collecting books for over 30 years and I know what my customers want.

I look for books that are in top condition. I don't want paperbacks with bent spines or books with damaged covers.

[Burton Lysecki] My collection consists mainly of quality general stock. I maintain a wide selection of Canadian history, which includes special sections for Western Canadian and Manitoba history. As well, I have more than 2,500 volumes of Canadian military, general military and World War history. The latest recent expansion means that almost half the shop floor is reserved for fiction, poetry and the arts. But I also carry titles in science, nature, transportation, the occult, New Age, health, sports and crafts — whatever people want.
Every book in this shop goes through my hands. I select them, I price them fairly. For me, the most satisfying moment is when I can put a book in the hands of someone who has been unable to find it anywhere else.
